I am newspaper reader from way back...I need 2 Sunday papers! I also check CNN everyday, sometimes twice. So I do like me some news! Do I need other people's (persons?) ideas of what is newsworthy? Not so sure. If the news items that are submitted are from legitimate sources, I'm good with that.The not having an editor over the site is kind of scary. I had the wikipedia concept run thru my mind,where items can be changed at anytime. I joined Digg at any rate, and when I was going to submit an article from the Wash.Post,it was already there! That was a good sign at least, since I read the article from a legit source, it meant others did too. I am thinking along the lines of productivity distraction though, just because there is too much news available. I can see having a link on the Library Web Page, maybe, but not on our actual station computers.
